Course Description
TAM International’s Chief Compliance Officer, Steve Hansen, will take you through a course that is designed to provide initial introduction and review of the Canadian regulations governing the safe transportation of radioactive materials.
Discussion ranges from requirements for excepted packaging, industrial, Type A and Type B packaging, including detailed information relating to the definitions, calculations, classification, marking, labeling, placarding, and transport documentation in accordance with the Canadian Transport of Dangerous Good regulations.
This course will also cover the interface with the international regulations (ICAO TI/IATA and the IAEA SSR-6) relating to the transport of radioactive material samples.
This course is designed to provide participants with detailed information regarding packaging for uranium and thorium bearing radioactive material.
There will be an exam at the end of the course where students must achieve a passing score of 80% in order to receive their course completion certificate.
